He has a loving family, over 50 movies under his belt, and a popular game named after him. What more could Kevin Bacon possibly want? Well, according to Production Weekly, he wouldn’t mind going on a vicious murdering kick—in the movies, that is.

Bacon has signed on to star in the revenge thriller Death Sentence, directed by Saw co-creator James Wan. The Fox film is an adaptation of Brian Garfield’s novel titled “Death Wish”, which launched the vigilante franchise with Charles Bronson. Bacon will play a father out for revenge after his family is attacked in a horrific crime involving gangs. He seeks out each person involved and repays them with death sentences.

Principal photography is scheduled to begin in early September.
