It's been a little while since Kevin Spacey had a flashy starring role. We've settled for him in supporting parts in stuff like Recount and 21, though he's never stopped bringing his customary intensity and flashes of wit. Now Spacey is ready to take the lead again, in a role that seems tailor-made for him-- criminal Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Spacey has signed on for the starring role in Casino Jack, about how Abramoff's bribery and general ripoffs landed him in jail in 2008. Variety writes that the title has been changed from Bagman, but George Hickenlooper will still be directing the script by Norman Snider.
