Magnet Will Unleash Hobo With A Shotgun

If you’re going to make a grindhouse film, the first step is to come up with a killer title and then build a story around that. And what better name for a movie than Hobo With A Shotgun? It’s to the point, catchy, and without even hearing a synopsis you can pretty much gather what the film is going to be about.

Hobo is spawned from a Grindhouse contest hosted by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriquez, in which aspiring film makers produced a trailer and the best one got made into a movie. Pretty simple really. The winner was obviously Hobo, Alliance put the picture together with none other than Rutger Hauer as the star, and now Magnet Releasing, responsible for putting out films like Monsters, Centurion and Troll Hunter, will be distributing this vigilante justice piece to the big screen, according to THR.

There’s no word on when or if the film will be released wide, but it will be premiering at next month’s Sundance Film Festival in Utah. The film’s director Jason Eisener had this to say about his film and Magnet:

May god have mercy on Magnet for having the bravery to unleash the madness that is Hobo With a Shotgun. We're taking a car ride to hell with this film and I can’t think of a better team to be riding shotgun.

With any luck it won’t take too long to print the reels and ship them out to theaters, but you know how it goes; Man makes movie, distributor acquires movie, distributors waits eight months to release movie. We’ll have our ear to the ground for this one so keep checking back for the latest news surrounding Hobo With A Shotgun. Here’s the trailer for anyone interested.
