I'm never one to trust British tabloids, but here we go: The Sun reports that actor Martin Freeman, best known for his roles in A Hitchhiker's Guide To The Universe and the UK Office, turned down the title role in The Hobbit in favor of continuing to star as Dr. Watson in the BBC series Sherlock Holmes. A nameless source (these tabloids don't deal in anything else) says that MGM made the actor an offer in the last few weeks but he had already accepted the television role.

At this point I don't think I should have to explain why this is story is completely bogus. There's a higher percentage chance that I walk out into a thunderstorm tonight and get hit by lightning twice (and to exhaust the point, I live in Los Angeles). Horoscopes and Magic 8 Balls have better track records of accuracy. This isn't real.
