The proposed remake of Carrie has more than enough things working against it, but towards the top of that list is finding another actress to play the lead role. Sissy Spacek's performance in Brian De Palma's 1976 film is truly iconic and even earned the actress her first Oscar nomination. Needless to say she's left some gigantic shoes to fill, but apparently Megan Fox - of all people - wants to give it a go.

An unnamed source "close to the star" has told ShowbizSpy that the Transformers actress is very much interested in playing the telekinetic tortured teen. Acknowledging that Fox looks a touch too old to play the part, the source says, "She’s 25 now but she’s sure she could still do justice to teenage Carrie. She’s told her people to make it happen." When asked if there was any truth to the rumors about the actress playing Wonder Woman in a future feature film, the commenter noted that Fox has no interest and "wants to move on to more serious roles."

Casting Megan Fox to play the title role of Carrie would make about as much sense as getting Mahatma Gandhi to star in a biopic about Caligula. She is so fundimentally wrong for the part that any casting agent who would give it a second thought would never work in show business again. Fortunately this seems to only be a pipe dream of Fox's and nothing anybody is actually giving real consideration to. I'd say that the actress' fans might want her to get the part, but considering the box office performance of Jennifer's Body and Jonah Hex I'm wondering if she even really has any.
