Attack the Block is definitely the film I've heard about the most since SXSW in March; our reviewer Matt Patches fell in love with it like everybody else who attended the festival, and when Screen Gems picked the film up for distribution I was relieved that I'd finally get to learn what all the fuss was about.

As it turns out, audiences in the UK will get to find out a lot sooner-- the film, which is set among the housing projects of South London, is coming out there on May 11. To get the word out The Guardian is debuting a new trailer for the film, which you can also watch below (a previous trailer debuted in March before the SXSW premiere). You may recognize Shaun of the Dead's Nick Frost in there among the young unknown British actors; he plays a pot dealer who's friendly with a gang of thuggish kids who witness the beginnings of an alien invasion and have to protect their neighborhood from the hostile hordes. Check out the trailer below for a look at the movie that Patches says "may wind up as one of the best action movies of the year," and try not to go insane waiting for it to finally hit theaters here in the United States.
