I'm happy to say that after seeing the brand new trailer for M.Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender screen before Iron Man 2 last night, I am thoroughly excited for the film to finally drop this August. It's easy to be skeptical: M. Night's last movie was a disastrous failure, and Airbender itself is an adaptation of a popular anime and those are always hit or miss. But now it would seem that the writer, producer, director is back on the right track.

This new poster dropped exclusively across the pond to the filmaholics at Empire and it's pretty cool. The still image of air and fire converging does nothing to show off just how impressive it looks in motion. The massive floating head isn't as egregious in this as they usually are, but a little ACTUAL design work could have easily included that massive head tattoo without crowding the top of the frame with the upper bust of a 12-year-old.

Scope out the poster below.
