Operation Kino Podcast #48: Chronicle And The Woman In Black Reviewed

This week on Operation Kino, we've got two reviews for the price of one (OK, it's always free, but work with us here). Nobody saw the same new releases, so Katey goes over the surprising joys of the found footage superhero movie Chronicle, while Patches enters a disappointing haunted house with Daniel Radcliffe in The Woman in Black. From there we dig deep into the idea, as floated by Steven Soderbergh in all his talk of retirement, that filmmaking needs to fundamentally change, and what that change ought to be. Before any of that, we've got a lightning round devoted to the random history depicted in Big Miracle, then tidbits, in which Da7e talks about the death of Megaupload and what it means for the war against piracy, David wants kids these days to appreciate Luis Bunuel, Patches doesn't know quite what to think about the upcoming HBO movie Game Change, and Katey really thinks Big Miracle could have been good if anybody bothered to care about it. We end, as always, with your lightning round answers for dessert.

Take a listen below and find your downloading options; for more from all of us, you can follow the show (@opkino), Da7e (@da7e), David (@davidehrlich or @CriterionCorner), Patches (@misterpatches) and Katey (@kateyrich) on Twitter.
