Parent Class Teaches A Lesson in Redundancy

Writing team Toni Kotite an Marty Scott have sold the project Parent Class to Overture Films (Mad Money and the recently mentioned Speech And Debate). The project was sold off of a pitch from the writing team. Variety describes the plot as revolving around divorced parents who have problems agreeing on the right way to raise their child, so they decide to enroll in a parenting class. The couple is forced to go back to school all over again.

Um... bore, snore and seven years ago. We've already had adults becoming frat boys again (Old School), slacker adults returning to school (Billy Madison), and older adults going back to school ( Back to School). I get that there is this parenting element and the couple will probably fall in love all over again - but really, that's it? Going back to school? It just doesn't feel as though there is anything in the plot's description that's new or different. It's more like a rom-com take on a movie that has already been done - and all three of the movies listed had romantic subplots to them. Unless there is a Billy Zabka cameo or a triple lindy dive i'm already over it and sadly, the script hasn't even been written yet.
