In his last three projects, David Cronenberg has had the opportunity to work with some of the best actors working today, including the likes of Viggo Mortensen, William Hurt, Naomi Watts, Vincent Cassel, Christoph Waltz and Kiera Knightly. So who will the famed body horror director work with on his adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel Cosmopolis? Twilight's Robert Pattinson.

Deadline reports that Pattinson will play a character named Eric Packer, a financial genius who watches his entire life fall apart while in a limo riding across Manhattan to go get a haircut. In addition to losing his fortune after betting against the yen, he must deal with a presidential visit, a rapper's funeral and an attack by anarchists, amongst other things. According to the report, Paul Giamatti and Marion Cotillard are also attached to the the project. The film will be Pattinson's first after the completion of the Twilight series.

The big question is obviously how far Pattinson's career will go once he is outside of a franchise. His first go at it, 2010's Remember Me, made only $19 million at the box office, despite the hordes and hordes of women and girls who call themselves "Team Edward." In April, Francis Lawrence's adaptation of Water For Elephants will be released, representing Pattison's next venture out from under the Twilight name. Needless to say, the box office results will be telling.
