It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything new about Bubba Nosferatu, the sequel to Don Coscarelli’s Bubba Ho Tep. There were the back and forth rumors about whether a sequel would even be made, then word that star Bruce Campbell wasn’t going to be available to be a part of a sequel and that Ron Perlman would be taking his place.

We got to talk with Perlman about his upcoming picture, Mutant Chronicles, and the topic changed to Bubba Nosferatu very briefly. Perlman confirmed his involvement, and gave us an update on the status of the long delayed sequel.

“The script is completed.” Perlman sounded happy to report. “They’re moving along quite rapidly, and we’re hoping to be shooting that thing sometime in the late fall.”

Unfortunately that was all we got the chance to ask the actor on the subject, but he sounded excited about it during that brief part of the conversation. Here’s hoping we’ll see Elvis raising hell with the undead again very soon.
