With the popularity of junk like High School Musical, I guess we should have seen this coming. Michelle Pfeiffer tells News.com.au that she’s been offered a part in a remake of the classic 1978 musical Grease.

She’s obviously a little old to play any of the primary characters, but Michelle says there’s an older part for her in the film and she thinks redoing it is a great idea. A much better idea than Grease 2, which she also starred in and now hates. She says, “I hated that film with a vengeance and could not believe how bad it was. At the time I was young and didn't know any better.”

Now she’s not young, and she still doesn’t seem to know any better. Not only does she love remakes, she also loves casting remakes with bad actresses. She says they may want to get Jessica Simpson for the role of Sandy, and believes Jessica would be good… even though she’s never been good in anything else, except perhaps a bikini.

As for what part Michelle would play, she says she’s angling to be the movie’s high school principal. Pfeiffer says, “She is fun and has some great put-down lines. I think I would like the part now that I have been asked.” Countdown till John Travolta starts whining for a part starts now…
