Will The Amazing Spider-Man 2 get better than 60% Fresh?

last rotten week What a week for the Rotten Watch. Three for three baby! Boom.

First off, there was The Other Woman (Predicted: 30% Actual: 25%). This thing looked so freaking awful from the trailer I was going to question human existence if critics had it even close to the 50% mark. That’s how bad I thought it looked - a movie that appeared almost damaging to women. In his review, Sean describes a flick that never really understands what it wants to be. He gives kudos to Leslie Mann, but the rest? Rough. That kind of review kept the prediction a winner.

Meanwhile Brick Mansions (Predicted: 23% Actual: 29%) was also right on the spot. The film that features Paul Walker's final complete performance was probably never seeking critical acclaim, so having it finish this low isn’t too terribly defeating. An action movie through and through, this flick was probably meant to stem the tide between the Fast and Furious flicks. The target audiences are identical. Kristy Puchko enjoyed it, saying it basically knew exactly what it wanted to be. I respect that from films, even if the larger critical audience doesn’t.

And finally The Quiet Ones (Predicted: 40% Actual: 39%) was a near perfect hit. Critics were merely *meh* for a film that looked liked almost every other formulaic horror film. It’s blandness made for a great prediction. This was just the kind of comeback week I needed.

Next time around we visit the neighbors, head out with mom and take a trip to Oz. It’s going to be a Rotten Week!
