Recapping a few weeks ago:

These are a bit old so I won’t spend too much time breaking down these guesses. All in all, it was a strong week with: Elysium (Predicted: 49% Actual: 69%)

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (Predicted: 36% Actual: 38%)

We’re the Millers (Predicted: 52% Actual: 47%)

Two out of three were within five percent with Elysium representing a significant miss. I say significant (even though it wasn’t my worst ever, far from it) because I had the tenor completely wrong. It’s one thing to be off on a prediction when I say “awful” and critics say “merely bad”. It’s another to say “below average” and critics reply “actually pretty darnn good”. Those are the predictions that eat at me a bit. I should have had a bit more trust in Blomkamp.

The other two films represent nice additions to the resume. Nice to add some more wins. There were a bunch of other flicks that I’m sure I would have been close, if not dead on, had I made the predictions. Regardless, I’m back from vacation and ready to get back to work.

Next time around Riddick is back for a little Labor Day fun. It’s going to be a Rotten Week!
