Terrence Malick makes movies that people wait decades to see as he crawls through his slow production process, and they're also the movies that people feel like they're stuck watching for decades-- guy takes his time on and off the screen. So it's a little surprising to read in Deadline Hollywood that Malick is already assembling the cast for his next film, even though his upcoming Tree of Life has yet to be released.

Not only that, but he's talked some pretty substantial names into coming on board. The movie described as a romantic drama will star Christian Bale, Javier Bardem, Rachel McAdams and Olga Kurylenko, best known as the Bond girl in the latest one that nobody really liked. Of course, most actors have such high regard for Malick that they'll generally do backflips to work with him, so it's no wonder he's getting his cast assembled before anyone has really put the money together. I'm dying for details on how all this cast will be working together, and if Malick will be able to convincingly make Kurylenko act. More coming as we hear about it.
