Imagine for a minute that Hollywood was contemplating a Jetsons movie. They’re not, as far as we know. There was talk about Robert Rodriguez directing one at one point, but that project hasn't been on anyone's radar for years. Still, we’ve seen The Flintstones on screen (twice!) and there’s a Hong Kong Phooey movie in the works, so anything’s possible. So, in this imaginary scenario, George Jetson and his futuristic family are heading to the big screen. Who would you hire as a consultant? James Cameron, for his sci-fi know-how? Jason Segal, for his ability to channel our nostalgia into contemporary comedy?

Nope. You’d consult Kanye West.

At least, that’s what Kanye hinted at in a relatively crazy Twitter rant late last night. “I was just discussing becoming the creative director for the Jetson movie and someone on the call yelled out ... you should do a Jetsons tour!” Kanye Tweeted.

Now, Kanye thought that was an insult. If you checked out his stage design for Coachella or the Watch the Throne tour with Jay-Z, you know he’s capable of what he calls “real ideas.” Um, you mean like a Jetsons movie? Because that’s not exactly the kind of “real idea” that we need to see coming out of Hollywood. And with all due respect to Kanye’s creativity, I’m not sure what he could bring to a Jetsons movie.

Granted, this is a late-night Twitter rant from a man who was up way too late in London (as Vulture notes, it was roughly 4 a.m. during this tangent, which touched on everything from his late mother’s fashion sense to the struggling state of education on our planet … I’m not kidding). But if a Jetsons movie happens, do you want Kanye involved?
