UPDATE: Variety has offered up a few new details about McNairy's role in Cogan's Trade and Prometheus. In the Andrew Dominik film, which has also brought Ben Mendelsohn of Animal Kingdom on board. Paired together, the two of them will play junkies responsible for the heist in the film. The part in Prometheus is Noomi Rapace's love interest.

Gareth Edwards' Monsters is quickly looking like an incredibly solid jumping off point for careers in the film industry. First the director landed the coveted job to make the next Godzilla movie, and now one of the film's stars, Scoot McNairy, is in line for some extremely solid parts. Deadline is reporting that McNairy, who played Andrew Kaulder in the low-budget sci-fi flick, is now in-line for three extremely high profile projects: Andrew Dominik's Cogan's Trade; Ridley Scott's Prometheus; and Timur Bekmambetov's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

First up is the part in Cogan's Trade, which apparently McNairy has already landed. While the role isn't specified, the job puts him in a cast that includes the likes of Brad Pitt, Sam Rockwell, James Gandolfini, Richard Jenkins, Casey Affleck, Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo, Ray Liotta, Bella Heathcote and Vincent Curatola. As for Prometheus, the role that he is going for, much like everything else in the movie, is unknown, but he would be joining another star-studded cast, which is already outfitted with Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron. Lastly, McNairy is in talks to play Josh Speed, Lincoln's sidekick, in the Bekmambetov film.

That's a pretty crazy list. As mentioned, Cogan's Trade is the only confirmed casting, but you can be sure that we'll stay on top of the story and confirm if he lands the parts in the others. Not too shabby for a guy named Scoot.
