Ten years after her first credited big screen role, Abigail Breslin shows no signs of slowing down. Her movie career, which began with M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs continues to build momentum as she signs on for one new project after another. This includes playing Valentine Wiggin in the much-anticipated adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game.

According to Variety, Breslin is set to star in Copperheart Entertainment’s supernatural mystery film Haunter. Directed by Vincenzo Natali, the film is described as a “reverse ghost story,” with Breslin playing Lisa, “a teenage girl who died under sinister circumstances in 1986 along with her family. Trapped in their house together and unable to move on, Lisa must reach out from beyond the grave to help her present-day, living counterpart avoid the same fate she suffered.”

A ghost from the ’80’s sounds like an interesting role for her, and it builds on to fairly wide variety of roles the young actor is taking. As Variety notes, Breslin recently signed on to star alongside Halle Berry in Brad Anderson’s thriller The Hive. Among her recent roles, she appeared in New Year’s Eve, and voiced a part in Rango. Between animation, romantic comedies, thrillers, supernatural mysteries, however you’d classify Zombieland (horredy?), and sci-fi, Breslin’s clearly willing to branch out and explore different genres, which is allowing her to build a substantial resume full of interesting roles.
