New Amazing Spider-Man 2 Images Feature Spidey Palling Around With Harry Osborn

Amazing Spider-Man 2 Spider-Man vs, Rhino

Between director Marc Webb’s Tweets from the set and the constant stream of new stills, posters, and behind the scenes photos that have arrived online, it feels as though one could collect all of the material we’ve seen so far from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 into a flipbook and gather a pretty good understanding of what the movie is all about. That said, there are still about four and a half more months of promotion for the film ahead of us, so let’s just get used to the fact that we’re going to be seeing a lot of Spider-Man in the foreseeable future.

Total Film has launched a full gallery of new stills over on their website, and while you can check them out over there in their highest resolution, I’ve selected a few of them to analyze in detail.

First off, up top we have what appears to be the aftermath of an incident between Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) and a suit-less – and pants-less – Rhino (Paul Giamatti). As he has been known to do, the webslinging superhero has once again saved the city of New York from an evil bad guy – but the question that remains is what exactly Rhino was planning to do. Presumably the tube that Spider-Man is tossing around was confiscated from the unclothed, tied up foe, but what exactly is it?

Amazing Spider-Man 2 Spider-Man and Harry

Next up we have yet another image of Spidey, only this time his scene partner is Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan). In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Harry is portrayed as being Peter Parker’s childhood best friend whom the hero has not seen in years, but what remains unclear is the relationship between Harry and Peter’s secret identity. In Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 and 3 the two characters were mortal enemies, but with the reboot comes a fresh slate. Given the hotspot of conflict that is OsCorp, however, don’t expect a positive relationship between them to last very long.

This third image shows off Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) dealing with what looks like a fairly perilous predicament. It’s hard to say exactly where she is in this shot – perhaps a giant clocktower? – but she is clearly caught up in a collection of giant gears and looks like she has no interest in staying there. But who is she looking up at? Spider-Man? Electro? Rhino? Green Goblin? We’ll have to wait until the movie comes out to discover the answer.

It just wouldn’t be a complete Amazing Spider-Man 2 photo set without a new look at Electro (Jamie Foxx). I’m not sure who is standing over him in this shot, but it would appear that the villain is having some kind of scientific experiment performed on him – potentially the one that turned him into Electro in the first place. Despite the dangerous looking machinery, the blue dude doesn’t look like he’s in any pain, so one might guess that he signed up for this willingly.

You can see even more images from the movie over on Total Film’s site, including new ones of Spidey and Electro. You’ll be able to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 when it arrives in theaters on May 2nd, and you can watch the previously released theatrical trailer below.
