Ice Cube Wants To Beat The Hell Out Of Charlie Day In Hilarious Fist Fight Trailer

It's the last day of school. It's the time when all the students are ready to let off some steam. Apparently, the same is true for the administration as well. Fist Fight is the story of an impending fight between two teachers. Check it out.

Ice Cube and Charlie Day are both high school teachers at what looks to be a fairly rough school. You'd think both of them would be relieved on the last day of school that the year is finally over. And yet, that does not appear to be the case. Ice Cube doesn't seem to care for Charlie Day very much and challenges him to a fight at 3:00. What follows is Day's meek teacher spending most of the day trying to figure out how to avoid the fight, or come up with a way to survive it.

Ice Cube and Charlie Day are not carrying this film alone, however. The trailer shows us a fantastic supporting cast including Tracey Morgan, Christina Hendricks, and Jillian Bell. Hendricks is pretty handy with a butterfly knife, remind us not to mess with her in the future.

If nothing else they certainly look to have the casting right. Ice Cube vs. Charlie Day is about the most mismatched looking pair you could get. There's no difficulty in believing that Charlie Day is going to get his brains beaten in by Cube. It's not clear what the dispute that leads to the fight really is or if it even matters. Since this is the taking place on the last day of school, we're going to assume that the feud between these two has been brewing for awhile, and Cube is ready to end it when the school year comes to a close.

Essentially, Fist Fight looks like a modern version of 3 O'Clock High that stars the teachers as opposed to the students. That's not a bad thing, it could certainly be a funny movie. At the same time, it seems like an odd choice to be the focus of a film. Bullying has become a hot-button topic in recent years and Fist Fight seems to be playing an idea for comedy that is quite often not funny. Still, we've only seen a minute of footage, so it's possible that there's more depth to Fist Fight than is obvious on its face.

We're certainly looking forward to seeing more of Fist Fight in order to figure out if this one is going to be as funny as it appears. If all of the actors involved bring their A game we could certainly have a laugh out loud comedy, even if it ends with one of the characters going to the hospital, which is a little sad. What do you think of Fist Fight's first trailer? Let us know in the comments.
