What Mark Wahlberg Hates And His Wife Loves About Transformers

Mark Wahlberg Transformers 5

If we polled a gaggle of total strangers and asked them what Mark Wahlberg potentially hated about the Transformers movies, the answers likely would range from "the scripts" to "the dialogue" to possibly "the overuse of explosions, which has to be hell on one's eardrums." Well, you'd all be wrong. The one thing that Mark Wahlberg truly hates about working on the current Transformers movie, Transformers: The Last Knight, is the length of his hair... even though his wife really loves it. The Oscar nominee recently said, of his flowing locks:

It's very uncomfortable. At least now it's long enough to kind of push it back, but it's painful, the hair. The crazy thing is my wife likes it. [But my kids] don't like it. My wife put my hair in a ponytail the other day and my son freaked out. He was trying to rip it out of my head. He was like, 'Dad, take that thing out right now!' ... I was hoping we would get it long enough to at least tie it up and get it off of my face. I'm not used to it at all.

We don't have an official image of Mark Wahlberg playing Cade Yeager (best movie name ever) in Transformers: The Last Knight, but he was spotted in this Transformers video that the cast made, giving thanks to the UK crowd for their hospitality during the recent film shoot. This will give you an idea of the length of his locks during the upcoming blockbuster.

Why the change in the look? As you can see from the photo at the top of this story, Cade Yeager kept his 'do cropped tight when we first met him in Transformers: Age of Extinction. Director Michael Bay probably should have checked with his leading man before agreeing to grow out Yeager's hair for the part. Then again, should we really be paying close attention to the length of Mark Wahlberg's hair in a Transformers movie, even though E! Online asked him about it? Shouldn't our retinas be focused on all of the eye candy being shoveled out by Bay and his wizards at ILM, as they construct Autobots and Decepticons who are looking to transform and tear each other apart?

Transformers: The Last Knight will continue the war being waged between man and robot, though there's a time travel element to this one, as scenes are confirmed to take place in the World War II era, as well as during the time of Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table. Will they be flashbacks? Or will human co-stars like Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel actually be transported back in time to fight alongside King Arthur? Find out when Transformers: The Last Knight roars into theater on June 23, 2017.
