This season is turning out to just be a marathon of non-stop blockbusters. In the last few weeks we've seen the release of big movies like Transformers: The Last Knight, Despicable Me 3, and Spider-Man: Homecoming - and the train keeps on rolling this week. We not only have the finale in what's shaping up to be one of the best trilogies of the young century, but also a nice little bit of summer horror. This week it's War for the Planet of the Apes and Wish Upon hitting the big screen.

Just remember, I'm not reviewing these movies, but rather predicting where they'll end up on the Tomatometer. Let's take a look at This Rotten Week has to offer.

Rotten Watch Prediction

War for the Planet of the Apes completes the trilogy started back with James Franco making Caesar all smart and stuff in Rise of the Planet of the Apes (81%). It was a welcome pivot from the disaster Mark Wahlberg version (45%) back in 2001. This one offered a much more human and "realistic" approach to how we'd have our world taken over, and the films have blossomed into an awesome series complete with some of the greatest visual effects present in Hollywood features today.

Matt Reeves (Let Me In - 88%, Cloverfield - 77%) directed the sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (90%), which further entrenched the true conflict between the remaining immune humans and Caesar's new society. He's back with the finale, and critics might end up liking it as the best of the bunch. It's currently sitting at 95% on the Tomatometer with critics praising the final act. Maybe we are just ready for apes to do this thing and take over.
