Wonder Woman's Honest Trailer Pokes Fun At How Clueless Diana Is

What Gal Gadot, Patty Jenkins, and Wonder Woman have managed to do is truly remarkable. With a lower budget than other DC projects, and arguably the least well-known member of the DC Trinity, the film has gone on to become one of the most successful movies of 2017. That said, it is not without its own share of flaws. In fact, the folks at Screen Junkies have just released a brand new Honest Trailer to skewer Wonder Woman in honor of today's home release, and it absolutely eviscerates how clueless Diana is throughout the bulk of the film. Check out the video below and see it out for yourself.

We absolutely love Wonder Woman (many critics did, in fact), but this trailer takes pretty accurate aim at Diana's utter cluelessness. Wonder Woman's story is predominately predicated on the loss of innocence and the discovery of the world's gray areas in the midst of war. As a result, we get a heroine who seldom seems to have a firm grasp of what's actually going on at a given moment. Then, of course, this Honest Trailer also points out Diana's seemingly limitless supply of questions. What's a secretary? What is a watch? What is the front? The list goes on and on. Obviously, the film capitalizes on this cluelessness for some great fish-out-of-water humor, but this video really hammers home just how unaware she is of fundamental concepts throughout the run of the film.

Arguably one of the most notable things that this video addresses about Wonder Woman is the fact that the film has flaws. The film is important, and widely regarded as the best entry in the DCEU to date, but it is also not a perfect product. Some of the movie's dialogue is absolutely atrocious (Ares' utterance of "I will destroy you" remains as cringeworthy as ever), the logic behind much of the mythology does not necessarily hold up under scrutiny, and the fact that Diana decided to stay active as a modern-day hero at the end does not necessarily flow with the version of Diana Prince presented by Zack Snyder in last year's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, even with those observable flaws, the film still manages to entertain, though.

Wonder Woman is now available on Digital HD, DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K. Let us know what you thought of Diana Prince's first solo adventure as a member of the DC Extended Universe in the comments below, and make sure to check out her next adventure on the big screen when Justice League hits theaters later this year on November 17.
