First Look At Dakota Johnson In Her Fifty Shades Follow-Up Suspiria

Over the past few weeks, Suspiria has been a fairly intriguing project, for multiple reasons. It's a remake of Dario Argento's film of the same name, which came out back in 1977. In addition, it marks Dakota Johnson's first big screen project since Fifty Shades Freed hit theaters a few months ago. Plus, that actress previously said the movie landed her in therapy. Now, we've gotten a first look at Johnson's dancing ballerina Susie Bannion, and she looks pretty intense. Take a look.

First and foremost, it's very clear from these images that Dakota Johnson is one of those gals who is lucky enough to be able to pull off multiple hair colors. The lighter red hair here washes softens her look, and makes her look a whole lot more like a frightened rabbit than she ever did in Fifty Shades of Grey. The braid is also something her Fifty Shades character would rock, but here she looks strange, maybe frightened? Certainly not the spunky annoyance she would display when mad at Christian Grey.

The plot of Suspiria itself will involve a dance studio and some nightmarish scenes, and we also get to see some of the other girls in the studio in another picture from the Luca Guadagnino feature, which is coming from Amazon Studios.

Suspiria Cast 2018

Along with Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Grace Moretz, Mia Goth and Jessica Harper also star in Suspiria. The original movie also starred Jessica Harper as Suzy Bannion, and in the new movie, the actress is expected to take on a supporting role, playing Anke.

Not a ton is known about Suspiria, except for the fact it's a remake, so if you've seen the original film, you likely already know the nature of the type of horror film it is, as well as its various twists and turns. That said, footage from the movie was shown at Cinema-Con earlier this year, and it produced a slew of vivid reactions, most of them mentioning it's going to be both gross and violent. But don't take it from me, take it from Twitter.

Obviously, we don't see anything overly weird or gross in these first look photos, which also came with the official release date for Suspiria. However, they are a little eccentric, and they sort of have me wondering what's going to come next. I can't wait for the trailer, and we'll let you know as soon as one drops. You can catch the movie on November 2, and in the meantime, you can also take a look at what other flicks are heading into theaters this year.
