Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Avengers: Infinity War! Read ahead at your own risk!

If you have kept up with superhero movies in 2018, then there's a pretty good chance that you already know what happens at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. Thanos (Josh Brolin) wipes out half of all life in the universe by snapping his fingers, resulting in a gasp-worthy moment, unlike anything the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever seen. It's a scene few could've seen coming, and in a recent interview, Brolin admitted that he was shocked when he first witnessed it in the theater at the premiere. Seemingly unaware of how bad the body count would be when he saw Infinity War, Brolin opened up in a recent interview and explained:

I was literally sitting in the theater going, 'Oh my God. Oh my God. Spider-Man just disintegrated. That's not OK.' I looked at Hemsworth and he looked at me. He smiled and was like, 'Your career is over.'

Yep, that pretty much lines up with the kneejerk reaction that many of us felt when we watched the final moments of Avengers: Infinity War. Josh Brolin finally got a chance to see the true aftermath of Thanos' Infinity Stone bombardment on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and his shock did not go unnoticed by Chris Hemsworth. In fact, per Brolin's remarks to USA Today, the Thor: Ragnarok star apparently leaned over to him during that moment and declared that this would be the scene that ended his career in Hollywood.

Of course, despite Chris Hemsworth's joke to Josh Brolin about the end of his career, that didn't actually happen. In fact, Avengers: Infinity War only came out two months ago, and Brolin has already worked through the rollout of two other major Hollywood sequels: Deadpool 2 and Sicario: Day of the Soldado. Couple that with the fact that he's also set to appear in Avengers 4 next year when the final Phase 3 movie debuts on May 3, 2019, and it looks like Brolin will remain busy acting and doing press for his acting gigs for the foreseeable future.

On that note, we're still left to wonder how the folks behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe will undo (or at the very least, repair) the damage done by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. There are only two solo movies left until Avengers 4 premieres, and with less than a year to go until Phase 3 comes to an end, it's going to be very interesting to see what happens with all of our favorite Marvel heroes and villains.

Avengers: Infinity War is still playing in some theaters, so if you have not already, make sure to see it for yourself! Beyond the latest Avengers blockbuster, you can also read our review of Ant-Man and The Wasp and check out the next major MCU outing when it debuts next month on July 6. As for Josh Brolin, watch out for his role as Matt Graver in Sicario: Day of the Soldado this weekend on June 29.
