Fan Reviews Of Mission: Impossible Fallout Are All About Henry Cavill's Mustache

Christopher McQuarrie's Mission: Impossible - Fallout has created a number of narratives that audiences have latched onto. From Tom Cruise's ankle injury during a stunt to the film's series-best opening, there are plenty of interesting debates and conversations surrounding the movie. However, one of the most interesting narratives related to Mission: Impossible - Fallout is the one surrounding Henry Cavill's agent August Walker, and the delightful mustache the character sports in the movie. Now that fans have had a chance to see Fallout, many have flocked to social media to sing the praises of the film AND the now-iconic mustache. Check out one such post, below!

So, as Twitter user Mike Killmonger laid out: the film is an absolute blast. The action is insane, and it arguably is the best installment that we have seen from the entire Mission: Impossible franchise so far. However, Henry Cavill's mustache doesn't actually play a role in the overarching Mission: Impossible - Fallout narrative. That said, it still (sort of) went "up in flames" in the climax of the movie, and made a great impression.

This assessment of the mustache was echoed by another tweet, this one emphasizing the fact that Henry Cavill's Mission: Impossible - Fallout mustache was absolutely worth the $30 million in Justice League CGI, and that the quality of the movie would be worth an even more expensive mustache. The mustache made headlines over the course of the last year because of the issues it created between Paramount and Warner Bros. during the expensive reshoots for Justice League, in which the mustache had to be removed from Cavill using CGI. Many wondered if the facial hair would ultimately be worth the sheer number of waves that it created, and these fans seem to think that it most definitely was.

The sixth installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible - Fallout tells a more personal story for Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt in which the super spy must cope with a mistake made on a mission, and the subsequent, potentially-apocalyptic "fallout" of that decision. The film includes a wide variety of nods to previous installments in the Mission: Impossible franchise, but as these posts have laid out, one of the most universally-loved elements of the entire affair is Henry Cavill's August Walker and his badass tuft of upper-lip hair.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout is now in theaters. If you are looking for more information about the film, head over to our full review and our To 3D Guide to read up on it and figure out which ticket is worth your time!
