Dwayne Johnson Has The Best Response To Winning A Razzie

Dwayne Johnson is a busy guy between his myriad movie and TV projects. Even though he's made a lot of winners over the years, he recently revealed he is a good sport about the bad projects he has been a part of, too. After his Razzie Award for Baywatch showed up earlier this week, Dwayne Johnson shared it with his fans, noting:

On the bright side, Mr. Johnson, at least Disney took care to give you a large and impressive plaque for Moana that juxtaposes nicely next to that tiny Razzie Award.

In the scheme of Razzie Awards, the one Baywatch nabbed is not so bad. Last year, for the 38th Golden Raspberry Awards, those behind the production created "The Razzie Nominee So Rotten You Loved It" award, which is the one Baywatch one. The award was given out after fan votes.

He previously said of accepting the award:

Here's the cool thing: the movie was so bad that they actually had to create another category. The new category is a movie so rotten you eventually fell in love with it. I'm not kidding! Which means the shit sandwich you've been eating is so bad that you eventually started to like it.

In fact, Dwayne Johnson is in good company with his Razzie Award for Baywatch. A lot of Oscar winners have also won Razzies, including people like Sandra Bullock, Eddie Redmayne, Kevin Costner, Halle Berry, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. Eddie Murphy even won a "Worst of the Decade" award once. Really, Dwayne Johnson and his Baywatch co-stars, including Zac Efron and Alexandra Daddario, are in good company. That year's other Razzie Awards went to the likes of The Emoji Movie and Fifty Shades Darker, in case you were interested.

Although Dwayne Johnson officially won the Razzie, 2017 was still a good year for the actor, thanks to -- especially -- Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, although he had several other projects that made money. 2018 has also been pretty kind to Dwayne Johnson.

In fact, the actor made the list of highest-grossing actors in 2018 (although he was beat out by the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Michael B. Jordan, Chadwick Boseman, Tom Cruise and others to the top spots). He was also among the highest paid actors of 2018, according to Forbes' annual list. Allegedly, he brought in over $124 million dollars last year. No wonder he could buy his mother a new house for the holidays, which he also shared on Instagram this week.

Next year, he has Fighting with my Family, Hobbs and Shaw, and Jumanji 3 coming, so we anticipate a repeat of the last couple of years. You can take a look at all of the projects Dwayne Johnson has coming up with our full guide.

Of course, if you are more interested in all of the movies coming out next year, we have you covered too.
