Award-winning porn director Bella Thorne has recently come out of the woodworks to explain why she ultimately opted to go for a porn movie called Her & Him as her first real foray into the world of directing shorts by herself.
If you asked Bella Thorne, it was actually the storyline and not all of the sex that she filmed that “inspired” her to join the Pornhub family. Per the actress and director:
What inspired me to do the movie was basically thinking about this relationship between a male and a female and this fight over dominance and how this relates to our general world, besides in a sexual scenario.
As she’s made the hop from a child actress in such projects as HBO’s Big Love and Disney Channel’s Shake It Up to an adult in the industry, she’s developed an eclectic resume. She’s appeared in big screen adventures like The Duff and Amityville: The Awakening. She’s taken on some producing roles and even performed music for the movie Midnight Sun. Directing the Her & Him short is just one of the latest additions to her resume, but she said she had trouble finding backers for her project until Pornhub -- which notably enjoys pop culture tie-ins -- stepped in.
It’s clear she had a vision for the couple in Her & Him in mind, but Bella Thorne also says she initially thought the story was going to be a “Christmas horror movie” before we ultimately ended up with the final version.
The vision behind the story was basically creating these two dynamic characters that could kind of, again, switch off from a dominant and submissive. My vision originally was to make a Christmas horror movie. And instead I made a very beautiful, ethereal, neon type of vision. Sometimes you go in thinking that you want something specific and you totally change your mind.
Bella Thorne had been a part of a few shorts before Her & Him, but this one has specifically attracted a lot of notice, due to it being a porn short and also an award-winning porn short.
She also mentioned in the interview with Pornhub that the difference between this sort of work and her other work is obviously the “real live fucking” on camera, which seems to have been a fun component. Still, whether or not she’ll attempt this sort of venture in the future remains to be seen, although she also says that the experience of creating Her & Him was really special because it was the first short that she basically fully directed by herself.
Recently, Pornhub announced Bella Thorne would be winning its Vision Award at the annual Pornhub Awards Show. At the time the actress said she was thankful for “breaking taboo” both within and outside of this specific genre of movie. Her & Him is currently only available with a premium Pornhub subscription, but you can already see the trailer for the production, if that's something that interests you.
