See What Robert Pattinson's Batman Could Look Like In The Joker Universe

Robert Pattinson looks serious movie suit

Robert Pattinson's Batman isn't crossing over with Joaquin Phoenix's Joker in the DC universe, but that doesn't mean The Batman can't take a page from Joker's gritty R-rated book. Besides, this does look pretty awesome.

Digital artist Mizuri offered fans an idea of what Robert Pattinson could look like if Matt Reeves' Batman movie is inspired by Joker. As the artist captioned the look...

Should Batman be Rated R like Joker? After seeing the masterpiece that was Joker, it really showed a new and exciting look at comic book movies, and set the bar super high for future films. That being said, I’m really hyped for Batman specifically, and I’m hoping for it to be a really gritty and mature film much like Joker. What are your thoughts on this? Here’s a little artwork I did displaying this. Enjoy!

I love the look. I don't know that The Batman would need to be R-rated to be gritty and mature and everything this fan and more are hoping to see. The rating doesn't really make a movie, but I suppose it depends on how "dark" Matt Reeves and DC want Batman to be. There's dark and there's Joker dark.

Many DC fans are hoping Robert Pattinson's Batman movie follows The Long Halloween comic book storyline. What we know about The Batman from writer/director Matt Reeves is what he told THR about his movie:

It's very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It's told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it's going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It's more Batman in his detective mode than we've seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He's supposed to be the world's greatest detective, and that's not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been. I'd love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it's going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.

Batman in detective mode. I think this look could pair nicely with that, no? There's no one correct opinion to have about Batman, Robert Pattinson as Batman, Matt Reeves' plans for Batman, or how Batman should look in this movie.

Digital artist BossLogic already gave fans a look at his idea of Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, but we're waiting to see what Matt Reeves and his team come up with. So far, we just know that trying on the Batsuit made Pattinson feel powerful -- but it was also rather humbling, since it required several people to squeeze him into it.

The Batman should start filming fairly soon. It is currently scheduled for release June 25, 2021, very closely followed by James Gunn's The Suicide Squad on August 6 of that year.
