Later this year he'll be playing a serial killer in The Lovely Bones, but right now Stanley Tucci is riding a wave of being the guy you want in every chick flick, or at least every chick flick starring Meryl Streep. So perhaps to follow up on those Julie & Julia good vibes, Tucci has agreed to be part of Burlesque, the crazy-ass-sounding musical starring Cher and Christina Aguilera as performers at a Sunset Boulevard burlesque club.
According to Variety, Tucci will play the best friend of Cher's character, an aging performer who takes Aguilera's character under her wing when she arrives in town. Steve Antin, who has never directed a theatrical feature before, will be in charge of this potential mess, potential masterpiece.
