Halloween Kills Clip Features John Carpenter’s Chilling New Song

Michael Myers in Halloween Kills

Countless film projects were pushed back last year, with studios hoping for a solid box office performance once moviegoers started returning to theaters. Horror fans were bummed when Halloween Kills was delayed a full year, although David Gordon Green’s slasher is nearly upon us. And a new clip features John Carpenter’s chilling new song for the sequel.

John Carpenter made film history with the 1978 original Halloween movie, composing the theme song in addition to helming the iconic project. While David Gordon Green is directing the current trilogy, Carpenter has stayed involved as a composer and executive producer. A new clip showed off Michael Myers’ escape from Laurie’s burning home, while also revealing the scary new take on the theme song for Halloween Kills. Check it out.

Is anyone else’s heart racing? John Carpenter once again proves why he’s a horror icon, as this new take on the beloved theme song is definitely going to increase tension and fear when Halloween Kills arrives in theaters this October. Let’s break it all down.

The above video comes to us from the YouTube of Sacred Bones Records. The title of this new track is “Unkillable”, which seems like an appropriate way to refer to Halloween Kills’ Michael Myers. And while we’ve all heard John Carpenter’s iconic theme before, this heavy synth and time signature really amp things up in a thrilling way.

The contents of Halloween Kills have been kept under wraps, but the limited footage and information certainly makes the sequel sound like a bloodbath. David Gordon Green assembled a strong ensemble cast to populate Haddonfield, as the town arms up to fight Michael Myers themselves. Unfortunately, he might just be “Unkillable.”

While he’s not directing the current Halloween trilogy, John Carpenter certainly seems thrilled with the work done by David Gordon Green and writer Danny McBride. The 2018 sequel was clearly influenced by the original, leaning heavily on building tension. And Halloween Kills will feature a number of returning actors from the original, reprising their roles and fighting Michael Myers themselves. This includes Nancy Stephens, Kyle Richards, and Charles Cyphers.

It should be interesting to see which characters survive Halloween Kills, and if they get invited to the final installment in the trilogy: Halloween Ends. That upcoming movie has the potential to be Jamie Lee Curtisfinal bow as Laurie Strode, and it’ll end the thrilling story that began in 2018. We’ll just have to wait and see if major characters like Karen or Allyson make it through the next installment.

Halloween Kills is currently set to arrive in theaters on October 15th. In the meantime, check out the 2021 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.
