In a way you have to admire the Farrelly brothers' dedication to making a Three Stooges movie. It feels as though the cast has had more shake-ups than the line-ups of Menudo and The Pips combined, yet they are 100% dedicated to making it all work. As reported a few weeks back, the directors have started a casting process, having lost Sean Penn, Jim Carrey, and Benicio del Toro, with the plan to start filming on March 14. Now we know exactly what they're looking for.
What's Playing has gotten its hands on a casting call for the project, which is apparently the kick-off for a world-wide tour looking for actors to step into the shoes of Larry, Moe and Curly. According to the report, the filmmakers no longer care about getting A-list names for the film. Instead, they are more focused on finding people with similar physical appearance and behavior to the original three. Here are the casting calls: MOE The unquestioned leader of the Three Stooges, Moe is a numbskull who barks orders and expects unquestioned obedience from his two hapless companions, Larry and Curly. STRONG VERBAL AND PHYSICAL COMEDY SKILLS REQUIRED - Age range early 30’s to early 40’s. I feel like posting that was repetitious, considering that everyone in the known universe can describe The Three Stooges at the drop of a hat. Auditions will begin in January and if you fit any of the descriptions above, you might want to stay on the lookout. |
