Red Tails Teases Band Of Brotherhood In Behind-The-Scenes Feature

Back in my day, says this old man, kids had to wait until a DVD came out before the saw behind-the-scenes footage on a film. Now studios are choosing to leak on-set videos and cast interviews ahead of a film’s opening as a way to drum up interest. Case in point: 20th Century Fox posted a new clip from the the set of Anthony Hemingway’s Tuskegee Airmen drama Red Tails, which hits theaters in January. Hemingway’s credits include episodes of The Wire, CSI: N.Y. and Treme, and that alone should get us excited for the feature. Then a trailer hit… and it was solid.

This new feature shows how cast members Michael B. Jordan, Tristan Wilds, Andre Royo, David Oyelowo and Method Man, among others, formed a band of brothers while filming with Hemingway. It’s short, but one of the actors calls it “six degrees of Black Hollywood” (which I love), and there a George Lucas sighting (he produced the film) right around the 38-second mark. Check it:
