Real Navy SEALs Go To Work In First Trailer For Act Of Valor

Hiring non-actors to act on a film can be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, they're real life expertise can add a level of realism that even the best actor on Earth couldn't replicate. On the other hand, the scenes that don't require said "expertise" can be a struggle, as not everyone has the ability to read dialogue and fake emotion. Last year director Paul Greengrass surrounded Matt Damon with real soldiers while making the military based action film Green Zone, but now directors Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh are taking that idea one step further: even their main characters are actual Navy SEALs.
