There are plenty of reasons to look forward to The Hunger Games, among which is seeing Stanley Tucci play Caesar Flickerman. We’ve caught glimpses of the character in the trailers, however this clip we have to share with you gives us a better look at Tucci’s take on the enthusiastic, blue-haired interviewer.

Part of the build-up leading up to the fight-to-the-death-style arena "games" in Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games involves the tributes being paraded around and put on display for the public, which includes an interview with Caesar Flickerman, who chats merrily with the kids on-camera. This clip below comes courtesy of MTV and features Caesar (Stanley Tucci) as he sits with Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), the other tribute set to represent District 12 alongside Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in the 74th Hunger Games.

I love the way Caesar plays up the audience during the conversation. And the loud laugh with that toothy smile is the icing on the cake. I’m not sure I would have pictured Stanley Tucci as Caesar when I read the book, but as a fan of his work, added to this glimpse of his take on the character above, I definitely can’t wait to see more!?

The Hunger Games arrives in theaters on March 23. More information, photos and videos can be found in our Blend Film Database.
