The Grim Reaper May Return For Bill & Ted 3

One of the key players in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey was the Grim Reaper, played by William Sadler. If not for the Reaper’s inability to best Bill and Ted at various games, including Clue (“I said Plum!” “You said Mustard!”), Battleship, and Twister, the duo would not have been granted a second chance at life and the opportunity to thwart the Evil Robot Us’es. The Reaper also proved useful at shopping and cart-pushing, not to mention bass-playing for Wyld Stallyns. While we’re still awaiting word on an official green light for a third Bill & Ted movie, it sounds like there’s a chance the Reaper will be brought back for the follow-up, should one happen.

(Via GFR) Movieweb spoke with William Sadler about his Bill & Ted character recently, and from what Sadler says, they’re trying to write the Reaper into the script for Bill & Ted 3:

I'm not sure if it's a done deal yet. I know they're trying to write The Grim Reaper in. (Writer-star) Alex (Winter) said, 'How could we do this without the Reaper?' I'm hopeful. I'd love to go back and play with those guys again. That was one of the most fun roles I've done. I'll be there in a heartbeat, if they want to do it.

He certainly sounds up for it, which only adds to the optimism and enthusiasm expressed by Alex Winter about the project. It’d be great to see the Reaper make an appearance in the sequel. We can cross our fingers for that while also hoping to hear word that this movie is officially a go.

“You might be a king or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you dance with the reaper.”
