Learn About Lightning In This New Clip From Frankenweenie

My favorite Tim Burton movie has been and probably forever will be Ed Wood. In addition to being the lone example in the director's catalog where he actually shows some restraint, the movie has a tremendous amount of heart, features amazing performances, and is really a loving tribute to the art of film. Martin Landau won a well deserved Academy Award for his performance as Bela Lugosi, but while Burton has always had a habit of reteaming with actors, Landau and Burton have not gotten together since. That is, until Frankenweenie.

Walt Disney Pictures has released a brand new clip from the upcoming stop-motion animated feature, and at the center of the video is Mr. Rzykruski, a character voiced by Martin Landau. In the scene, the teacher is giving his students a lecture about the power of electricity, which gives Victor a brilliant idea.

Based on the short film that Burton made in 1984, Frankenweenie tells the story of a young boy named Victor Frankenstein (Charlie Tahan) who is devastated when his beloved dog Sparky is killed by a car. Not ready to say goodbye to his dog, Victor devises a science experiment that actually manages to bring Sparky back to life. But making living out of the dead has its consequences. The voice cast also features the likes of Catherine O'Hara, Winona Ryder, Christopher Lee, Martin Short, Tom Kenny and Atticus Shaffer. Look for it in theaters on October 5th and to see more from the movie head over to our Blend Film Database.
