Jay Pharoah, Bryan Callen And Tika Sumpter Join Kevin Hart In Ride Along

Jay Pharoah comes from the world of Saturday Night Live and Bryan Callen got his big break starring in the early seasons of MadTV, but now they’re getting ready to come together for feature film roles. New reports have revealed that both stars, along with Sparkle actress Tika Sumpter, have signed on for roles in the upcoming comedy Ride Along.

The project was stuck in development hell for the longest time, but looking at Variety latest story about hew movie makes it seem as though it’s been fast tracked. The story follows a school security guard (played by Kevin Hart) as he goes on a rough ride along with his fiancee’s police officer brother (played by Ice Cube). Naturally, the brother isn’t very fond of the lead and takes him on the ride through hell. Pharoah’s role is described by the trade as being “a street-smart informant,” Callen will be paired with John Leguizamo for the movie as an undercover cop, and Sumpter will play the female lead, Hart’s fiancée. Tim Story, who directed Hart earlier this year in the blockbuster comedy Think Like A Man is on board to helm the new project (he also previously worked with Ice Cube on Barbershop)

Pharoah is currently starring on SNL, which is currently in season, and will next be on the big screen in Get A Job with Miles Teller, Alison Brie, Bryan Cranston, Anna Kendrick, Nicholas Braun and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Callen recently wrapped on the upcoming About Last Night remake.
