Turns out that Cameron Diaz is being cuckold - and she wants revenge against the guy doing it to her. Okay, maybe that's just her character in the new movie The Other Woman - it's just more fun to pretend that it's real life too.

The Wrap is reporting the casting news and adds that the script was written by Melissa Stack, who doesn't have any feature credits but has had her work featured on the Black List (the annual list of the most popular unproduced screenplays in Hollywood). The plot of the new film follows a woman who learns that the man she's been seeing is actually married. Filled with rage, she decides to tell the man's wife and the two of them team up for payback. The site adds that 20th Century Fox is looking to get Kristen Wiig to co-star, but nothing has been made official yet. The project is described as similar to The First Wives Club, but will be targeted at a younger demographic. There doesn't seem to be a director currently attached.

Stack is a former attorney who quit her job to pursue a career in screenwriting. Her first script, I Want To Fuck Your Sister, was the one featured on the Black List and the project is currently in development over at MTV Films.

Diaz last appeared in the multi-plotted romantic comedy What To Expect When You're Expecting and will next appear alongside Colin Firth in the Coen brothers-scripted con comedy Gambit. She most recently completed production on Ridley Scott's The Counselor, co-starring Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt, and is also attached to star in Agent: Century 21, a comedy about a real estate agent who accidentaly gets caught up in a kidnapping plot.
