Saoirse Ronan has survived World War II in Atonement, narrated an entire story from beyond the grave in The Lovely Bones and battled Cate Blanchett in Hanna, but she'll be up against an entirely new threat in The Host: aliens. Well, in a way she actually is an alien, living in a world in which nearly every human has been physically colonized by invading alien species. Ronan's character Melanie, however, is one of the few who has been able to fight back.

To see how it plays out-- and how Melanie's fight becomes vital to the survival of all people-- check out this exclusive new TV spot for The Host below:

Written by Twilight author Stephenie Meyer, The Host describes itself as a love story, as Melanie risks her life for the people she loves while also struggling with the feelings of the alien being Wanderer, who lives inside her and has fallen for Ian (Jake Abel). Yes, it's a love-quadrangle in which two of the people share the same body. Way more complicated than falling for both a werewolf and a vampire, if you ask us.

The Host, as you can probably see in the text above the TV spot, opens on March 29. You can click here for everything else we know about it, including more trailers and photos.
