Tilda Swinton And Tom Hiddleston Are Vampires In Heat In Only Lovers Left Alive Clips

Sometimes a movie so fantastically bizarre comes together that it sounds like it's some sort of brilliant Madlib. That's how I lovingly think of Only Lovers Left Alive, a romantic drama written and directed by art house auteur Jim Jarmusch that stars Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton as vampire lovers. It seems utterly outlandish, and yet oddly perfect. In the film, Hiddleston plays a vampire/rock musician called Adam. Swinton is his Eve, literally—her name is Eve. And together these two live in undead bliss…until Eve's spunky little sister Ava (played by Stoker's Mia Wasikowska) turns up.

Only Lovers Left Alive is poised to make its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 25th. And in anticipation of its debut, io9 has uncovered a pair of clips that give us our first look at these lovers in action. Up top is a clip that shows Adam and Eve reuniting. Even without True Blood-styled speedy vamp sex, it's pretty damn hot, yet totally SFW. Watching this, it's easy to see why Hiddleston was considered for The Crow reboot.

Below gives us a peek at Ava's disruptive effect, complete with drumming, playful pouts, and Star Trek Into Darkness' Anton Yelchin as a possible love interest named Ian. Even without a context of where in this scene falls in the story , or what's in the flask Ava asks for, you can see the beginnings of drama, as she flirts with her sister's beau and steals focus from Eve, who sits by strangely silent.

Only Lovers Left Alive is expected to open theatrically later this year.
