Metallica Through The Never Trailer Teases A Concert And A Story

Metallica fans who aren't able to get to one of the metal band's concerts this summer won't be completely out of luck if they want an audible and visual Metallica feast. Coming to theaters this fall is Metallica Through The Never, a music-driven feature film that combines a narrative with live performance footage, which was filmed exclusively for the movie. The new trailer gives us a look at both sides of the movie, with teases of "Wherever I May Roam" and "Master of Puppets" and glimpses of the story that will play out between concert footage.

Directed by Nimrod Antal, Metallica Through the Never stars Dane DeHaan as Trip, a roadie who's sent on a mission to meet up with a disabled delivery truck to pick up a mystery item. As we see in the trailer (via Yahoo), he gets into an accident, which leads him into an adventure involving a tense standoff between angry protesters and riot police. The description also mentions a vicious masked horseman with murder on his mind and Trip in his sights. In addition to DeHaan, Metallica's James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo and Lars Ulrich are also mentioned among the stars of the film.

So there's the story, there's the music, and then there's the visuals, which involve and chaos in 3D…

Featuring dazzling pyrotechnics, the most elaborate live-performance stage ever built and imagery drawn from the band’s trailblazing iconography, the immersive 360-degree show creates a mind-bending, ear-shattering mirror image of the destruction and chaos of Trip’s journey. Metallica Through the Never’s state-of-the-art 3-D photography, captured using up to 24 cameras simultaneously, engulfs audiences in one of the most innovative andexciting cinematic experiences ever imagined.

Metallica Through The Never is set to arrive in theaters September 27.

In addition to the trailer, we also have a teaser poster with a very literal approach to the title to enjoy.
