Jonah Hill And Channing Tatum Meet Their New Dormmates In New 22 Jump Street Clip

Beyond the presence of brilliant directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, 22 Jump Street is one of our most anticipated films of the summer because of the return of Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum's chemistry. In 2012 they proved to be an absolutely fantastic comedic pair in 21 Jump Street, and all of the trailers, TV spots and footage we've seen from the sequel makes it seem they will be back on top of their A-game in the follow-up. Need proof? Just watch the brand new clip above that just found its way online.

Presumably set fairly early in the movie, this clip - which comes to us via Yahoo! - features Schmidt (Hill) and Jenko (Tatum) moving into their new college dorm room and meeting their neighbors across the hall, played by twin stand-up comedians Keith and Kenny Lucas. Not only are the film's main stars really great in this scene, but their supporting stars are pretty fantastic as well. It's hard to say how much of a role the Lucas twins will have in the movie, as this is the first time we've seen them in the marketing materials, but if this clip is anything to go by then I hope we get to see more. According to an interview with Splitsider, they were hired when the production sent out a notice looking for actors who were "brothers or sisters or just a team that could bounce off of Channing and Jonah." It looks like Lord and Miller chose well.

22 Jump Street picks up pretty much where the last movie left off and finds Jenko and Schmidt heading off to college to try and stop the spread of yet another dangerous new narcotic (a funny meta reference to the fact that Hollywood demands sequels to follow the same formula as the original). While the two partners begin the case closer than ever, they find themselves starting to drift apart when Jenko joins the football team and Schmidt begins to hang out with the art majors - leaving the case in jeopardy. Ice Cube, Nick Offerman, Dave Franco, and Rob Riggle will all be reprising their roles from the first movie, while newcomers include Peter Stormare, Amber Stevens, Wyatt Russell, Jimmy Tatro, and Jillian Bell. Michael Bacall, who wrote the script for 21 Jump Street, co-developed the story for the sequel with Jonah Hill and wrote a draft of the script, but other credited writers include Oren Uziel (Mortal Kombat: Rebirth) and Rodney Rothman (Grudge Match).

The film is getting closer and closer to its release date, set to arrive in theaters on June 13th, so be sure to stay tuned over the next few weeks for some really great 22 Jump Street-related content!
