Where Vision Might Go After Captain America: Civil War

As Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe wound down, and as contracts with actors are starting to run out, the MCU began adding new characters that will play key roles in the shared superhero universe moving forward. One of the biggest of these is The Vision, played by Paul Bettany, and a new rumor making the rounds may reveal what he’s going to be up to in future movies.

There are potential SPOILERS beyond this point, so if you’re sensitive to such things, maybe take a flier and read another of our stories.

That Hashtag Show has a source that they trust, one who has fed them intel in the past that turned out to be right on, and the latest scoop they go indicates that The Vision will wind up in space after the events of next year’s Captain America: Civil War.

If this turns out to be legitimate information, this could have potentially huge implications for a couple of other upcoming movies in the MCU, most notably Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (as well as the two-part Avengers: Infinity War saga).

During Avengers: Age of Ultron, where Tony Stark’s virtual butler JARVIS got a body and became the Vision, Thor has an apocalyptic vision that shows the destruction of his home world of Asgard. This harrowing fever dream involves the Mind Gem, which is implanted into the Vision’s forehead and serves as the source of his power. It’s possible that he could show up in Ragnarok and perhaps be part of the undoing of Asgard.

Sending the Vision into space also hurtles him into the Guardians of the Galaxy neighborhood of the MCU. At some point, Thanos is going to get his mitts on all of the Infinity Stones to fill out his Infinity Gauntlet, which will give him unlimited power. One of these is the Mind Gem, and if Vision shows up in GotG 2, this brings the gem that much closer to falling into Thanos’ nefarious, power-hungry hands.

Right now all of this is speculation, but it is certainly possible. Check out the whole video below.

In addition to the space portion of the program, this video also drops a couple of interesting tidbits about Vision’s role in Captain America: Civil War. It says that Vision will in fact be in a relationship with Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, which is something that happens in the comics. Beyond that, the story sees proposed regulation split the superhero community in two, and though Vision initially sides with Tony Stark and his pro registration camp, he ultimately switches sides, teaming up with Captain America and his crew, which could be huge.

We’ll see Vision when Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6, 2016, but we’ll have to wait until 2017 to see if he shows up in either Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 or Thor: Ragnarok.
