Suicide Squad Clip From The MTV Movie Awards Is Crazy And Fun

Following last month’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the DC Extended Universe is continuing this August with the super villain-led Suicide Squad. So far, our main looks at the summer blockbuster have been the gloomy footage from last year’s San Diego Comic-Con and January’s "Bohemian Rhapsody"-charged trailer. Tonight, a new clip debuted at the MTV Movie Awards presented by four of the movie’s stars, and it’s now available online. Take a look!

Once again, The MTV Movie Awards are to thank for the explosive footage that we've gotten in our latest look at Suicide Squad. In the new trailer we see the direct connection between the Squad's adventures and that of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and it's all involving Viola Davis' Amanda Waller. In fact, the Suicide Squad's existence sounds like it's owed to Superman scaring the government, as they're resorting to the best of the worst bad guys to save the world. Luckily for the rest of us, these bad guys have some awesome powers, and some sweet ass musical cues.

Suicide Squad will follow a group of incarcerated DC villains who are approached by the government organization Task Force X to go on dangerous missions in exchange for leniency. However, the antagonist operatives will soon learn that they weren’t picked to succeed, but to take the fall should anything go wrong. The team’s members will include Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Boomerang, Killer Croc, Diablo and Slipknot, along with government agents Rick Flagg and Katana. Other players in the movie include Task Force X head Amanda Waller, the powerful sorceress Enchantress and the psychotic Joker.

Since day one, Suicide Squad has promised to be an unorthodox thrill ride to shake up the summer box-office. After the reaction to the clip at last night's pre-taped ceremony, we've been expecting something pretty damned big to land in our laps, and tonight's new look is definitely worth the hype. Not only does David Ayer's super anti-hero movie look like it's going to up the action factor from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it looks like it's got the humor and general amiability that DC's previous offering was missing.

Suicide Squad makes the bad guys look good on August 5th.
