What To Expect From Killer Croc In Suicide Squad

With its rich cast of villains fighting against their better impulses in order to save the world, Suicide Squad is going to have a lot of backstory to fill its viewers in on. Though if you're impatient to know what sort of state Killer Croc will be in when he joins the team, you've come to the right place, as Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has dished some details on the villain's introduction.

During an interview with ComingSoon.net, the Suicide Squad star informed the site that Killer Croc will be somewhat specially prepared for the trials ahead, as he's already fought up against Ben Affleck's Batman. Agbaje explained as follows:

At the time you meet him in this film, he’s a fully-fledged criminal. He’s really one of the baddest criminals known to be roaming in Gotham, hence his lockup in Arkham. He’s tangled with the Batman and here he is amongst these other foes. He’s very much a formidable force at the time that you meet him.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje's remarks about fighting Batman in a pre-Suicide Squad capacity only further supports the news we've previously reported concerning Batman not only playing a huge part of the framework to David Ayer's summer blockbuster, but that there could be flashbacks to his efforts in putting the Squad right where Amanda Waller needs them. If this is the case, not only will we get to see Killer Croc and his fellow Suicide Squad members telling their own backstories with the Caped Crusader, but we'll also be seeing the beginnings of the Ben Affleck Batman solo film.

Judging by how the first installment of Batman's solo franchise is supposed to take place in a Gotham City that's pre-established, villains and all. Put that together with this new item from Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, as well as the rumors that Bruce Wayne and his heroic alter-ego may appear in the Wonder Woman stand-alone project, and the most obvious pattern is starting to appear: the DC Cinematic Universe may as well be called the Batman Cinematic Universe.

Of course, this setup works both ways, as Killer Croc now has a shot at appearing in the next Batman solo adventure. Which means that between his first encounter with the Caped Crusader, and what ever battles may take place during the events of Suicide Squad, Croc is probably going to pick up new moves and strategies that will force Batman to step up his game even more for round 2.

Suicide Squad cues the music, and kicks some ass, on August 5th.
