One Track Sunday: How To Cash In On The Harlem Shake Craze

It’s hard to ignore “The Harlem Shake,” but it’s been easier to ignore Azealia Banks’ remix of the track, at least until this weekend when the rapper created a pretty skanky video to highlight the track and then started complaining about actual "Harlem Shake" producer Baauer’s distaste of her remix and her own producer, Diplo’s, response.

As Banks notes in her lyrics, her hips sway a lot. It doesn’t help that that bright orange top is pretty siren-like and sort of anti the actual “Harlem Shake,” but as usual her rapping covers the more obnoxious facets of her personality. Speaking of covering, I’m impressed the woman managed to pull those tight jeans all the way on. If you like Baauer’s tune you’ll probably enjoy this, especially if you are already a fan of the artist. However, that doesn’t change all the other nonsense coming from Banks’ end.

Banks is still fuming about anyone and everyone’s distaste of her using the borrowed beat and she even went so far as to call her producer, Diplo, a “fucking snake” and say he wouldn’t be anywhere without M.I.A. You can catch that undercutting remark and plenty more over at the woman’s Twitter account. This isn’t the first time the artist has publicly fought with high profile individuals in public and I get the feeling it won’t be the last.
