Disney's Original Cruise Ship Is Getting A Facelift

The above video was shot by Attractions Magazine and follows Imagineer Joe Lanzisero, a man who worked on the original Disney cruise ship, and who is talking about a large revision of the famous ship. On Saturday, Disney announced its very first cruise ship, called The Disney Magic, will be undergoing some major renovations. Although the renovations have been scheduled for this fall for a while, but now Disney has spoken out to talk about the magical changes to its original ship.

Some of the changes are smaller, including the ship’s atrium, which is getting a brand new color scheme, as well as some slight architectural changes. New characters and playspaces, including Andy’s room from Toy Story and a space featuring the characters from The Avengers, will be added, as well. Some of these ideas have been implemented similarly on other Disney Cruise ships, but the ship is the original in the fleet, and besides, if those small changes don’t sound supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, there is more to come.

The dining areas and the pool areas are getting a makeover, with one of the crowning moments going to a giant water slide with a 37-foot drop. Additionally, waterfalls will be added to the pool and three brand new bars have been added for the parents. A family friendly cruise may not be the #1 destination for singles or couples without children, but for a magical adventure for a family, The Disney Magic sounds as if its redone version will really live up to its name.
