Move Over Grumpy Cat, There's Now A Grumpy Puppy

The internet has spoken. Grumpy Cat is out...and Grumpy Puppy is in. Apparently the now three year reign over the ‘Grumpy’ region of the internet has quickly been won out by a scowling puppy named Earl. Whether you’re a dog lover or not, you won’t be able to resist this adorable frown.

Though Grumpy Cat will always hold the title for the original badass look, Earl, the Grumpy Puppy may pose quite the threat. Now, we haven’t seen him in action. And whether his grumpy look extends to his all-around demeanor. When it comes to a cat, they’ve got that natural laziness going for them, so Grumpy Cat’s scowl is extended about 50% just by his often motionless nature. When it comes to a puppy, well we imagine Earl is still fairly active, scaring away all the younger, more naive pups in his age group.

According to BuzzFeed, Earl the Grumpy Puppy is an old man stuck in the body of a 5-month-old puppy. He lives in Iowa with his 25-year-old owner Derek Bloomfield and girlfriend Christie. And if the internet excitement over this annoyed little mutt continues, he may reach all kinds of grumpy fame. I mean, have you seen Grumpy Cat’s empire lately? Not only does the World’s Grumpiest Cat have his own website and millions of followers, but he also has his own weather app, coffee line, and a whole bunch of apparel for humans.

There can only be one Grumpy Cat at the top. But is there room for this Grumpy Puppy to reach internet stardom? He’s certainly got a nice selection of memes starting to spread.
