Hilary Duff is giving all her haters the kiss-off after receiving some criticism for a photo of her kissing her young son at Disneyland. The singer and actress posted a short note encouraging anyone who had an issue with her kissing her 4-year-old son Luca on the lips to unfollow her on social media.
The photo that started all the controversy is one that Hilary Duff posted on Tuesday, in which she's holding Luca on a railing in Disneyland and kissing him on the lips.
After posting the photo, Hilary Duff began noticing that some of her followers were commenting that the shot was inappropriate, and quickly turned the the best friend of all celebrities who need to rant: the Notes app. Duff accused the negative commenters of having "warped minds and judgement," and told them to unfollow her Instagram account.
For anyone commenting that a kiss on the lips with my four year old is 'inappropriate,' go ahead a click a quick unfollow with your warped minds and judgement.

And this isn't Hilary Duff's first taste of social media backlash in the past few months, although the other recent controversy ended with an apology from Duff rather than a defense. For Halloween a couple months ago, Duff and her boyfriend Jason Walsh made the unfortunate choice for her to dress as a pilgrim and he to wear traditional Native American garb, including face paint and a feathered headdress. The costumes were widely regarded as racially tone deaf, and especially insensitive since during that time American Indians were fighting to block the North Dakota Access Pipeline from being installed and disrupting the water source of their sacred grounds.
After noticing the criticism, Hilary Duff quickly deleted the Halloween photo from her accounts and posted an apology to Twitter, admitting that she did not think the costume through and that she apologized for offending anyone.
Thankfully for Hilary Duff, kissing your kid is heaps less controversial than appropriating another culture. Let's just hope for her sake that she can make it to the end of the year without another social media blow-up.
